The February 2017 issue reports on the final seminar of the first Paris cohort, devoted to quantitative methodology and led by Professor Jean Moscarola from 25 to 27 January, attended also by two students from the third Dakar cohort. In Dakar, the fourth Executive DBA cohort began with the seminar on conducting the thesis from 19 to 22 January, facilitated by Michel Kalika, Fatou Diop Sall and Jean Desmazes; it brings together thirteen doctoral student-managers of seven nationalities, from Guinea, Chad, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Mauritania, Ivory Coast and Togo, working in banking, finance, insurance, medicine, environment, security, industry and training within public and private organisations. The issue celebrates the first doctor in Dakar: on 20 January, Papa Modou Ndiaye, managing director of the Millennium Challenge Account in Senegal, defended his thesis on risk factors in the management of development projects in Senegal before a jury chaired by Amadou Lamine Dia and including Michel Kalika, Jean Desmazes and Mouhamed El Bachir Wade as rapporteurs, Boubacar Baidari as supervisor, Birahim Gueye and Fatou Diop Sall; CESAG celebrated its first doctor and an article on AllAfrica highlighted the relevance of his findings on the ineffectiveness of public development aid. The newsletter also mentions the institute's appearance on BFM Radio and the Digital DBA webinar led by Isabelle Walsh and Michel Kalika.
