About this document
The January 2018 issue opens with a tribute to Raymond Sfeir, who died in 2017, written by Professor Jean-Fabrice Lebraty. He recalls their paper on early warning systems and resilience presented at the RESER conference in Gothenburg in September 2010, and how Sfeir, a renowned business leader in the paper industry, wished to combine his professional experience with academic research. Engaged on many fronts, including interfaith dialogue, he refined his research project week after week and defended his DBA thesis on 28 September 2016 before a jury of professors Dubois, Favier, Kalika, Liarte and Lebraty; the very next day he was already planning articles and a book based on his work, and only illness stopped his quest for perfection, consistent with his love of martial arts. The tribute salutes his family's constant support and presents him as an example of rigour, motivation and humility for any DBA candidate. The issue then invites readers to save the dates of the 2018 International Week in Wiltz, from 24 to 28 September, with seminars on Monday, workshops and presentations on Tuesday and the rest of the programme detailed. It also includes the timetable of the cohorts, publications, the Prix Gourmand Award, press coverage, videos and news from management research.
