The July-August 2026 issue opens with the opinion piece co-signed with Professor Jean-Pierre Helfer, president of the Academic Steering Committee, entitled Doctoral pathways deserve better than confusion. It addresses the need to clarify doctoral pathways in management studies: DBA, Executive PhD and traditional PhD are increasingly blurred labels that open the door to programmes lacking rigour. The authors restate the international distinction between the PhD, which trains researchers, and the DBA, which enables practitioners to conceptualise their experience, and call for programmes to be evaluated by the French higher education evaluation authority HCERES. The issue also illustrates the international momentum of the institute: the first doctoral conference organised in partnership with ICD Business School brought together on 23 June more than forty participants from four continents around the theme of organisations in transition, while the opening of the first cohort of the Executive DBA in Health, Innovation, AI and Environment in Shanghai, delivered face to face, confirms the community's grounding in contemporary research issues. The issue follows the familiar structure of the monthly letter: the president's foreword, programme news, campus life and contributions from the community. It addresses doctoral managers, doctors and the professors of the network, as well as managers considering the doctoral programme.
