The May 2016 issue introduces the first Executive DBA class in Paris, made up of ten students from six nationalities. These new doctoral candidates are practising managers with diverse backgrounds, working in engineering and expertise, aviation, diplomacy, insurance, consulting and audit, yet sharing the same motivation: joining a demanding programme led by professors from prestigious universities and business schools, and producing a thesis and new knowledge based on their own experience while continuing their professional activity. The seminar on managing the thesis, organised by professors Paul Beaulieu, Pierre-Jean Benghozi, Michelle Bergadaà, Jacques Igalens and Michel Kalika, took place from 21 to 23 April near the Paris Opera, and four further three-day seminars will follow during the first year, bringing the students into contact with twenty professors in total. The newsletter recalls that enrolment is open for the Casablanca, Geneva, Luxembourg and Dakar cohorts and details the agenda, with the Thematic Paradigm II seminars in Dakar and Luxembourg in May and a thesis supervision day for the Dakar class of 2015-2018. It closes by presenting Christophe Everaere, new member of the Scientific Council, professor at IAE Lyon, director of the doctoral school in economics and management and head of the human resources and organisation research group, whose work focuses on atypical forms of employment and working conditions.
