The November 2017 issue opens with a press review of Olivier Rollot's blog article published on 20 October, The DBA: a real doctorate for executives. It portrays several doctoral candidates: Luc, who asked whether the new theory of ontological integrity opens up new management perspectives, Joseph, who worked on risk management in construction projects in turbulent environments in Algeria, and Yacouba, who studied the business model of mango-exporting SMEs in Burkina Faso. They come from the French-speaking world, Canada, Africa, Switzerland, Portugal and Germany, and share three traits: they are over forty, have rich professional experience and want to theorise it in a thesis. The article explains that the DBA was created for such people, delivered by the Business Science Institute with the iaelyon School of Management and CESAG, and that they came to defend their work in the impressive setting of the Château de Wiltz in the Ardennes. The issue then offers a visual retrospective of the 2017 graduation ceremony and a series of videos: opening remarks by Michel Kalika, an address by Dean Jérôme Rive, Jean-Pierre Helfer on DBA contributions and impact, the round table with the authors of Le projet de thèse de DBA, the thesis defences and testimonials gathered by Emmanuel Josserand. The agenda lists the epistemology and qualitative methodology seminar of the second Paris cohort in late October, followed by publications and management research news.
