The May 2023 issue opens with an editorial on managerial impact, described as part of the DNA of Executive DBA theses and as what distinguishes them from traditional PhDs. Since its creation, the institute has never stopped emphasising this key difference and highlighting the value of the results produced by its 140 doctors of business administration. Whether through the book Managers Creating Knowledge published by EMS in 2015, the many publications resulting from the theses, articles, opinion pieces or interviews, the managerial impact generated by this research continues to gain recognition. The French-speaking Human Resources Management Association has recently inaugurated a new AGRH-DBA thesis prize, and the institute proudly announces that it has been awarded to one of its alumni, Laurence Leung Tack, from the fifth Geneva cohort, who defended in 2022 a thesis on managing the aftermath of managerial burnout, analysing the logics of inter-hierarchical support and the contributions of mindfulness, supervised by Professor Marc Valax. The president congratulates her on a recognition that confirms the relevance of the programme. The issue continues with videos, faculty scientific and editorial news, campus life and alumni updates. The prize gives concrete form to peer recognition of work carried out by practising managers on questions arising directly from their professional experience.
