The May 2015 issue lists the Dakar class attending the Thematic Paradigm II seminar from 21 to 24 May and the Geneva class attending Thematic Paradigm I from 28 to 30 May. The main article welcomes the new Executive DBA group that started in Geneva in April. Its eight students come from eight nationalities, from Europe with Switzerland, France, the Netherlands and Belgium, from Asia with Thailand, and from the Middle East and North and West Africa; the youngest is 35 and the eldest 56. The newsletter describes what such a group means in an Executive Doctorate: a space for exchange and mutual enrichment where each participant seeks a deeper analysis of professional practice, a step back, the sharing of experience with benevolent peers and the time to write, conceptualise and give meaning to a career, whether as head of HR, consultant or chief financial officer. Their backgrounds span aerospace and civil engineering, non-profit organisations and sustainable development, telecommunications and banking, public service and academia, yet they share one motivation: joining a demanding programme of five three-day seminars in 2015 and producing a high-quality thesis under the supervision of a professor from a prestigious university or business school, while continuing to work. The issue also relays an article in HR Today on the launch of the Geneva programme, a video by Michel Kalika on information overload and the presentation of new members of the Scientific Council.
