À propos de ce document
The November 2018 issue opens with an award: Thierry Lamarque, a recent graduate of the first Paris cohort, has won the first Business Science Institute Managerial Impact Award for his Executive DBA thesis supervised by Professor Bérangère Deschamps, on the negotiation process in external takeovers of SMEs seen from the buyer's perspective. The prize was presented during the graduation ceremony at the International Week in Wiltz. The newsletter summarises the thesis: takeovers of SMEs by individual buyers from outside the company account for half of such operations in France and represent a major economic challenge in terms of safeguarding employment. The work analyses the negotiation process, highlighting the strategy of the key players, the manifestation of bias and emotions during exchanges and the role of advisers and of the buyer's entourage across the different phases; it identifies ten key success factors and proposes five managerial recommendations for individual buyers and their advisers. Thierry Lamarque is also the co-author, with Martine Story, of Reprendre une entreprise, whose second edition was published in 2018 by éditions Maxima. The issue continues with a new partnership agreement, photo highlights of Wiltz 2018, the conference on sustainable research, the agenda, a new module, new members of the Academic Council and the management support team.
